By accessing or using SeaSpotters (the "Service") at seaspotters.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, please do not use the Service.
Community content
SeaSpotters is built from sightings submitted by its users. You are responsible for what you post, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display and distribute your submissions as part of the Service. Do not post content you do not have the right to share.
Prohibited content and conduct
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You agree not to post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, spam, or deliberately false — including fake or misleading safety information. You agree not to harass, abuse, impersonate, or threaten other users.
By using the Service you accept these rules. We may remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that breaks them, at our discretion and without notice.
Reporting and blocking
Every sighting and comment can be reported from its menu, and you can block any user so their posts no longer reach you. We review reports of objectionable content and act on them — normally within 24 hours — by removing the content and, where warranted, the account behind it. Safety hazards are the one thing we never hide on a report alone: a false hazard comes down only after a moderator confirms it, so a report can never be used to bury a warning about real danger.
No reliance for safety
Sighting and hazard information is community-sourced and provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. It may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Never rely on the Service as your sole source for decisions about entering the water or any other safety-critical choice.
Links to other sites
The Service may link to third-party sites we do not control and are not responsible for. Review their terms and privacy policies yourself.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SeaSpotters and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Changes
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced on the Service. Continuing to use SeaSpotters after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malta, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
